Two Europeans arrested for bid to break into bank ATMs in Oman

One of the accused was caught while attempting to install a device and camera in an ATM machine.

Two European nationals were arrested in the Muscat governorate after they tried to break into an ATM at a commercial bank in Ruwi area of the wilayat of Mutrah.

The two wanted to steal and copy the data from ATM cards of clients. One of the accused was caught while attempting to install a device and camera in an ATM machine. The second accused was arrested as he was trying to leave the country from the Muscat International Airport. The Royal Oman Police (ROP) also seized equipment and devices used in the crime from them.

Meanwhile, the Investigation and Criminal Investigation Department of Buraimi of the ROP arrested three Asian nationals on charges of selling pornographic films.

The three accused were distributing these films on cell phone memory cards through repair shops in the area. After a search and investigation, the accused were caught red-handed.

Two drug traffickers held
The Drug Enforcement Department of the ROP arrested two Asians on drug trafficking charges in the wilayat of Seeb. The ROP officers arrested the two suspects and seized a large quantity of contraband, including 15 capsules of heroin. It turned out that the two accused have a connection with an international gang smuggling narcotics into the country. The accused have been sent to the public prosecution for trial.

Two illegals nabbed
The Investigation and Criminal Investigation Department of Buraimi arrested two Asians on charges of impersonation and attempting to illegally cross a checkpoint in Al Rawda area of Buraimi. When they were interrogated the police found that the two had official documents that were illegally acquired. They confessed that they had entered the country illegally. The two accused have been sent to the public prosecution for further investigation and trial.
