Qatar's top business leaders honoured

ABE Qatar Awards 2014 winners

Qatar’s top business leaders have been recognised at the annual Arabian Business Qatar Awards, held on Doha on Tuesday night.

Leading the way was Vodafone chairman Sheikh Dr Khalid Bin Thani Al Thani, who attended the event at the Grand Hyatt to collect the prize for Telecoms Company of the Year. Qatar National Bank CEO Ali Al-Kuwari won Businessman of the Year, while Hamad Medical Corporation boss Dr Hanan Al Kuwari was named Businesswoman of the Year.

The Qatar Chamber of Commerce Director General Remy Rowhani took a Special Recognition award, with International Retail Achievement going to Fifty One East. Al Khaliji Bank was voted Bank of the Year, with Khalifa Haroon named Young Achiever.

Edward Attwood, Group Editor of Arabian Business, said: “These awards have once again shown that when it comes to running great businesses, there are few better examples than here in Doha. Every winner tonight has shown great excellence in their specific fields.”

Special Recognition: Remy Rowhani, Director General, Qatar Chamber of Commerce
